You’ll Have Loads Of Fun At These 10 Pick-Your-Own Fruit Farms In Texas

It just doesn’t get much better than fresh fruits and veggies. Luckily, the Lone Star State home to some wonderful pick-your-own fruit farms, where you can stock up on the sweetest, most flavorful crops this season. Here are 11 of our favorites.

You can pick peaches, nectarines, and blackberries from about mid-May to mid-July. They even sell peach and blackberry ice cream made from their homegrown fruit! Some customers have reported it to be better than Blue Bell, which is enough of a reason for us to make the trip ASAP.

28268 Clark Bottom Road, Hempstead, TX 77445

Since 1982, Blueberry Hill Farms has been supplying the biggest, most juicy berries to people from all over Texas. Memorial Day weekend is the proposed opening date for this year, and picking lasts until the end of July. They also have a store with preserves of all kinds as well as a bakery with blueberries ‘n’ cream pies, blueberry muffins, blueberry frozen yogurt, and blueberry lemonade. Yum!

Strawberry season is in full swing, and boy, are they sweet as ever. You won’t believe the size of these things! An entire box will only set you back $0.75, or you can pick by the pound for $2.89. Make sure to save the containers – you’ll get a discount if you bring it with you in the future! The plants will continue to produce fruit until mid-May, when blackberries may become available if conditions are favorable.

1801 FM 1980, ​Marble Falls, Texas 78654

Situated on 70 acres of wide open land, Echo Springs is the perfect place to escape the city for a day and spend quality time with loved ones. The farm opens up in mid-May for the 2018 berry season, and frozen berries are available during fall and winter in case you don’t pick enough. There’s a bakery with sugar and gluten free options as well as a wide range of preserves and syrups. None of the plants are sprayed, so feel free to pop a few delicious berries in your mouth while you’re picking!

7235 FM 607, Brownsboro, Texas 75778

Located about 2 hours outside of Dallas, this little East Texas gem boasts some of the sweetest berries in the state. Like the other blueberry farms, picking begins in mid-May and lasts through July as long as it doesn’t get too hot. It’s $15/gallon when you pick them yourself, or $20/gallon pre-picked. They also have blueberry ice cream, other treats, and even blueberry and fig trees for sale!

982 TX-37, Quitman, TX 75783

Wild Berry Farm offers strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries beginning in May. Blackberries and blueberries are $4/pound and strawberries are $5. Not only can you pick delicious fruits, but the whole family can also enjoy activities such as a hayride, catfish feeding, digging for fossils, and more! Plus, they have a cafe that serves farm-to-table food for breakfast and lunch, so you don’t have to worry about getting hungry!

905 Crawford Rd, Sadler, TX

Blackberries, peaches, apples, figs, and persimmons grow here at various times of the year, and they’re all available for picking! The blackberries are nearing peak ripeness, so I’d plan a trip ASAP if I were you. There’s also the famous Apple Store that serves delicious baked goods, jams, jellies, and even apple pie-flavored ice cream! That’s an experience your taste buds don’t want to miss out on.

13495 State Hwy 16 North Medina, TX 78055

Although they received damage from Hurricane Harvery, Berryland Farms still plans on opening in May this year. They’ll have blackberries, blueberries, tomatoes, and veggies like squash, purple hull peas, peppers, and cucumbers that are all looking promising. They can’t wait to see y’all out there!

Unfortunately. strawberry season has come to a close at Blessington Farms, but blueberry season is just about to start! Not only that, but there’s a whole host of other fun activities to enjoy like a giant slide, petting zoo, camel feeding, and a bluebonnet patch to frolic around in and take that iconic family picture. It’ll be a day the entire family won’t soon forget.

Apple Country Orchards is the ONLY certified organic orchard in Texas! That means the apples and peaches you pick here will taste fresher and more flavorful than any you’ve ever had. They also offer local honey that’s absolutely delicious!
