Three-alarm fire at Noches de Colombia in Secaucus

A popular area chain restaurant caught fire in Secaucus on Thursday, according to police officials, who said no civilians were harmed by the three-alarm blaze.

Lt. Kimberly Elphick stated the fire started in Noches de Colombia just before 4:30 p.m. The cause is still under investigation, he said.

Authorities said no one is displaced by the fire, which burned in a two-story building on Paterson Plank Road.

Crews extinguished the fire by 5:42 p.m. and one firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation.

Noches de Colombia is a South American food chain with locations in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. The company could not immediately be reached for comment.

The fire burned in the popular Columbian restaurant on Paterson Plank Road, but firefighters had it under control a little over an hour later.

SECAUCUS, NJ — A three-alarm fire broke out at Noches de Colombia restaurant in Secaucus Thursday evening.

The fire broke out at Noches at 4:27 p.m. and the restaurant will be closed until further notice, according to Secaucus police.

Nobody was injured. Secaucus volunteer firefighters could be seen on the roof of neighboring Blackjack Mulligan’s restaurant trying to put out the fire.
