The hunt is on to find the owner of an unclaimed lottery ticket worth nearly £58 million.

The winning ticket was bought in South Ayrshire, Scotland, but the owner may not even realise they are now a multi-millionaire after winning £57,869,670.

The ticket holder matched five numbers and the two Lucky Stars in the EuroMillions draw on Tuesday March 17.

EuroMillions bosses have urged people to check their tickets and come forward by September 13 to claim the money.

The money will go towards National Lottery-funded projects across the UK if the winner is not found.

The winning numbers for this draw were 05, 07, 08, 16 and 20, with the Lucky Stars 2 and 12.

A National Lottery spokesman said: “We’re desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with this massive prize which could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life.

“We’re urging everyone who might have bought a EuroMillions ticket in this area to check their old tickets or look for any missing tickets at home.

“In the current situation, rather than taking a trip to the shop to check your tickets, we’re encouraging everyone to check their numbers online via The National Lottery website or via The National Lottery App.

“While we are all trying to do the right thing by staying indoors at the moment, it’s a good opportunity to dig out and check those old lottery tickets.”
