Preceded in death by parents Guadalupe and Santiago Mendoza, spouse Heriberto (Gilbert) Carabeo, sons Leonard and Mike Carabeo, Grandsons, Randy, Gary and Jerry Carabeo, Edward Carabeo, Albert Teran, Billy Carabeo II, and Lauro Espinoza, Jr. And brothers Jess, Gilbert, Johnny, Tony, Manuel and James Mendoza, sisters Jane and Mary Carbajal.
Survived by children, Herbert (Barbara) Carabeo; Gloria (Larry) Castillo; Rosie (Tony) Teran; Arthur Carabeo; Val Carabeo; Marcie Escalante; Bill (Rosa) Carabeo; Irene (John) Bayer; Liz (Jorge) Encinas and Linda Carabeo. Also survived by 28 Grandchildren; 50 Great Grandchildren;15 Great- great Grandchildren and Emma Grace due in Dec.
Josephine was a devoted wife of 63 years, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, and godmother. Fina was also a special friend to many.
She loved going to church, flowers, plants, music, dancing, cooking, and baking (especially her famous empanadas, tortillas, and yeast bread). Fina also loved puzzles, Scrabble, Lotteria, Bingo, shopping trips for all of the family, and friends. She especially enjoyed raising her children and was also a caretaker for numerous others. She followed her calling relentlessly and thanked the Lord for what was given to her at the end of every day. Josephine was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church and also attended services at Our Lady of Fatima in Tucson.
Josephine was a “Golden Star Mother”- lifetime member of VFW Post 836 Auxiliary, St. Patrick’s Women’s Club, Buck & Roll Club and The Guadalupanas Club of Sacred Heart Church of Bisbee.
Our Mother, Nana, Grandma was the heartbeat of our family. Enjoy these shared memories from the grandchildren:

“She would forget where her cup was, but never forgot an anniversary or birthday.”
“Nana never gave up, as she was always very modest and honored her dignity to the end.”
Services will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016, at St. Patrick’s Church, 100 Quality Hill Rd, in Bisbee. Rosary at 1:00 pm, with Mass at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Bisbee.
